AUO is committed to value transformation, using its group synergy and strengths to offer a diverse range of green solutions encompassing energy management, renewable energy, and resource recycling. This year marks its fifth participation in the "Green Technology and New Energy Section" at 2025 Touch Taiwan. Under the theme "Beyond ESG, Partnering for Green Solutions," AUO, along with its business groups and subsidiaries, will present a Carbon Neutral Building Solutions exhibition, showcasing the integrated strength of their green technologies and providing key solutions to support enterprises to achieve low-carbon transformation. Furthermore, aligning with the shift towards a new plastics economy, a Plastic Reduction Initiatives exhibition will display the collaborative achievements of AUO and its ecosystem partners in reducing plastic usage. This embodies AUO's vision of connecting internal and external value chains to create green business opportunities through tangible green behavior and performance.

AUO Integrates Green Technologies to Deliver a Comprehensive Low-Carbon Building Solution

In response to the global net-zero trend, AUO is integrating the diverse services of its subsidiaries- AUO Envirotech, AUO Digitech- and its energy business to showcase a comprehensive carbon-neutral building solution. This offering combines energy conservation, energy generation, energy management, and electricity sales services into an integrated approach. The showcase includes net-zero intelligent building solution, ESCO solution, chiller system, AI power saving solution, and renewable energy services.

In terms of energy conservation, and in alignment to the government's deep energy-saving initiatives, AUO Envirotech has been recognized as an energy service company (ESCO) supplier. By connecting carbon management and energy management systems, AUO offers customers diverse and flexible energy-saving solutions, accumulating a total of 104 million kWh of electricity savings since 2019.

By integrating energy generation, energy management, and electricity sales services, AUO's subsidiary, AUO Power, has launched renewable energy services to address the complexities of renewable energy management. Furthermore, it offers renewable energy services by using an intelligent management system, connecting power generation plants directly with the customers. This system provides comprehensive management across all stages, including power purchase agreements and payments, generation data, power matching and dispatch, and certificate management, thereby enhancing the stability and management efficiency of renewable energy supply.

As the smart city sector continues to expand, the demand for smart buildings is also rapidly increasing. AUO has integrated its group-wide resources and extensive practical experience to successfully transform its headquarters building, the AUO Global Research Center (GRC), into Taiwan's first carbon-neutral building* to receive ISO 14068-1:2023 certification, providing the industry with a low-carbon, near-zero building solution.

Industry, Academia, and Research Institutions Unite to Create a Plastic Reduction Ecosystem and Unlock New Value Through Resource Recycling

AUO is actively pursuing a circular economy through its Plastic Reduction Initiatives exhibition, which highlights actions and achievements in two key areas: production and manufacturing, and employee behaviors. These efforts align with global concerns regarding plastic reduction and biodiversity. In terms of production and manufacturing, AUO adopts a comprehensive "source-to-end" management approach encompassing procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, and waste disposal. The exhibition will feature items made from recycled materials such as tray pallets, stretch film, and filter cartridges, alongside the successful implementation of aluminum-plastic separation. In 2024 alone, these efforts have resulted in a reduction of over 400 metric tons of plastic at the source.

Regarding employee behaviors, AUO promotes the concept of a "plastic reduction living circle" in everyday life. Through soft engagement activities, the company - cultivates environmental awareness among employees. Office waste plastic is repurposed into practical everyday items like folding umbrellas, garbage bags, and tote bags. These items are used as employee gifts and external giveaways, embodying AUO's philosophy of plastic reduction.

Guided by a spirit of “Gung-Ho: collaborate for mutual benefit”, AUO's plastic reduction initiatives have formed over 37 partners from industry, academia, and research institutions, creating an ecosystem to amplify the impact of these actions. In the area of waste plastic recycling technology, AUO has already teamed up with the Plastics Industry Development Center on several projects. To further solidify their commitment, both organizations will sign a memorandum of understanding at this exhibition, pledging to jointly work towards reducing plastic waste and circular transformation. This collaboration will enhance cooperation in technology research, regulatory adjustments, education and promotion, as well as the exchange of international information and industry insights, collectively accelerating the industry's green transformation.

To implement low-carbon and circular thinking, this year's exhibition booth will continue the green exhibition concept. It will make comprehensive use of recyclable materials, reuse existing display materials, and replace printed materials with digital methods, creating a zero-waste green exhibition space. In the future, AUO will continue to drive sustainability through technology, connecting internal and external value chain partners to build diverse, sustainable solutions. With its extensive experience and capabilities, AUO aims to support the industry's transition towards a greener future and collectively embrace a new era of sustainability.

Note*:The term "Buildings" in this context regarding Carbon Neutrality refers specifically to the emissions generated by AUO’s headquarters building, GRC, during its operational phase.
